The Science Shtick

Our Solar System: The Moon
Astronomical symbol for the Moon.
(From Egyptian)
Mass 7.35*1025 g
Radius 1.738*108 cm
Density 3.34 g/cm³
Orbital Period 27.322 d
Orbital Distance 384.4*108 cm

Satellite of Earth

Interesting Fact:
In its orbit around the Earth the moon constantly shows the same face towards the Earth with little variation. (There is a slight wobble.) This fact was caused by the long-time action of what is called the "tidal force" or "differential force" (see: Differential Torque) which force is a result of gravity and slowly works to cause the same effect in all spinning bodies in an orbit.
